Palworld 1.0 crossplay: connect on Steam, Xbox, PS5

Connect to a Palworld 1.0 server from Steam, Xbox, PlayStation and Mac: the right join method per platform, and why console players use the in-game server browser.

Palworld 1.0 runs on PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Mac, and crossplay has been in the game since update 0.5.0 back in March 2025, so 1.0 changes nothing about it. One dedicated server can host Steam, Microsoft Store, Xbox, PlayStation and Mac players together. The catch that trips people up is that platforms do not all join the same way, and consoles cannot type in a server address at all. Here is the per-platform picture.

Your server address

Every Hostd Palworld server has an address and port on your dashboard, in the form:

yourname.hostd.it:8211

That is the hostd.it address on Pro and Elite; Standard servers use a yourname.hostdservers.com address instead. Steam and Mac players connect with that address directly. Console and Game Pass players join a different way, covered below. Set a server password from the dashboard if you want to keep the world private. Steam and Mac (direct connect)

The most flexible route. In Palworld, open Multiplayer, choose Join Multiplayer Game (Dedicated Server), and paste yourname.hostd.it:8211. Enter the password if you set one. This is the same flow as our main connecting guide.

Xbox, PlayStation and Game Pass (community server browser)

Here is the important difference: Xbox, PlayStation 5 and the Microsoft Store / Game Pass PC version cannot type in a server address. They join through the in-game community server browser instead. The steps are:

  1. Open Palworld and go to the community/dedicated servers browser.
  2. Search for your server by name.
  3. Join, and enter the password if you set one.

Because these players find the server by name, give your server a distinctive name on the dashboard so it stands out in the list. If a console player still can't find it, open a ticket and we'll check the listing from our side.

When one platform can't join

Work through these in order; it is almost always one of them:

  • Wrong address format (Steam and Mac). The port matters: yourname.hostd.it:8211, not just the name. Copy it from the dashboard rather than typing it.
  • Password mismatch. A trailing space or wrong case will silently fail. Re-enter it.
  • Console player on the wrong screen. Joining a co-op session is not the same as joining a dedicated server. Make sure they are in the community server browser and crossplay is enabled.
  • Can't find it in the browser. Search the exact server name, and double-check the server shows Ready on your dashboard before they look.
  • ISP or network block. If one player times out while everyone else is fine, it's their network, not the server. Our can't-connect guide walks through this.
